I was just out of college, in the first year of my business career. This is the last thing on earth you want to hear from your doctor. With nothing to lose, I tried Christian Science. And now, fifty-five years later, I want to tell you how I was healed.

A few years ago I began having problems with one of my hips. I knew God made me perfection His own image and likeness, and I could be healed through His love alone.

One morning I went out to feed my horses and discovered her lying on the ground with the symptoms of an advanced state of colic, a condition that would have commonly been considered untreatable at that point. I prayed to God, knowing that He loved and protected all of His creation. By the end of the day, she was completely healed.

Several years ago I came across an article about a man who, despite being seriously ill, selflessly undertook to help others, and in doing so, he himself found healing. The same thing happened to me.

If you are suffering from a chronic and apparently hopeless condition, do not give up! God is on your side, and omnipotent Spirit is your strength, by which you will triumph and be free.

My son was caught in a rushing river current and I couldn't save him. But God could and did.

During  the time my mother was ill, I envisioned myself as a swimmer in a river, swimming upstream against a strong current, developing spiritual muscle—spiritual stamina—through prayer.

"Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?" (Mal. 2:10). Read how the author's deeper understanding of God as the Father-Mother of all mankind brought healing and peace.

Whatever today may bring, prayer can make it better.

One day, I just stopped functioning. I didn’t want to live anymore. I ended up in a lockdown mental ward, where I was given lots of medication daily. I turned to God in prayer and worked my way out of this depression and am completely off any medication.
