Christian Science Sentinel

I suffered from pain down the back of my legs that was diagnosed as sciatica. The doctor said it would be best if I could learn to live with the pain. The diagnosis scared me. I certainly didn’t want to live with the pain! I was a relatively new student of Christian Science, and the next day I decided it was time to get serious about addressing this problem through Christian Science.

I was ten years old, and on this day I fell from the ten-foot-high diving board onto the concrete alongside it, missing the water entirely. I have no memory of the fall itself, but what I do remember is just as vivid now as it was the day it happened.

Shortly before I became a serious student of Christian Science, I was medically diagnosed with bipolar disorder, commonly described as manic depression. I was left with virtually no treatment options. Or so I thought. Christian Science healed me.

The author's desire for a deeper understanding of God led to her study of Christian Science and healing of cancer.

I'd had a very strong Christian upbringing, and I had been taught about God and the Bible from the time I was a child. But it wasn't until my study of Christian Science that I was healed of chronic invalidism.
