Worship, Prayer Group Meetings
Youth Sunday School

There are more than three dozen Christian Science worship communities in Michigan from Glen Arbor to Ann Arbor to East Lansing, and all over the state. Known as the Church of Christ, Scientist, these groups hold two services a week throughout the year. Welcoming to all, Sunday worship takes place in the morning and the mid-week prayer group meeting is held on Wednesdays – usually in the evening. Worship times and locations are noted in the sidebar links.

Wednesday Testimony Meetings

The mid-week prayer group meeting is an informal gathering where we sing, pray, and listen to readings on contemporary topics. A major part of the meeting includes time for anyone to share healings and inspiration from their study of Christian Science.

Sunday Services

Worship on Sundays is an hour long. Conducted by lay members of the congregation, the sermon is comprised of citations from the Bible and a companion text, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Services are visitor-friendly. Come dressed as you feel comfortable.

Sunday School

Sunday School is about discovering how spirituality is relevant in our lives – how it fits into every day and shows up in everything we love to do. It’s an environment where one can feel totally supported. And, it’s an opportunity to talk with other kids under the age of 20 and look for meaningful answers to issues that come up in our lives.

One focus of Sunday School is deepening our understanding of the spiritually inspired Word of the Bible and applying Biblical truths to everyday experience. Three scriptural passages, in particular, are studied and reviewed periodically: the Ten Commandments, The Lord’s Prayer, and The Sermon on the Mount. These Bible ‘classics’ have proved for centuries to be a moral compass and “true north” that are invaluable for navigating through life’s journey.

Sunday School is open to everyone up to the age of 20. It meets at the same hour as the Sunday worship service. Infants and children too young for Sunday School classes are cared for in the Nursery. The youngest classes include singing and introductions to Bible characters & stories. Older classes tend to be organized around like-grades and interests, and we all come together for opening and closing hymns. We meet all year round. Students are welcome to enroll at any time during the year and visiting students are always welcome.
